The aim of the project was to migrate data, and services, and ensure the delivery of quality for Kronans Droghandel headquarter regarding workplace service. Migration was from KD Pharma to Logica central environment.

Decommission Data Centre

Primus Data Centre were a datacenter inherited through acquisitions. The hall was about 1000 square meters and was built sometime in the 70s. Phasing out a hall that has been in operation for so many years and been owned by several companies is both complex and risky as some of the equipment and documentation is not possible to procure.

This project is a result of a decision taken to decommission Data Centre in Stockholm. Aim is to escalate and finalize the work to close down the Data Centre. Include in this project is to coordinate and secure that customer and services will be moved to Logicas other Main Data Centres or will be terminated and returned to customer or Logicas subcontractors.

Objectives: Decommission the Data Centre as soon as possible to decrease unnecessary cost

Thore was the Principal Project Manager for this project. The project calculated duration is 1.5 year.
The project consists of 5 subprojects. The project has a lot of dependencies to other activates within Logica which makes it complicated to deliver.

A new office building would be built and Thore was responsible for IT delivery. This included IT the infrastructure in house, external IT communications to existing offices in the surrounding area and the internal mobile phone solution.

The office was constructed for 750 workstations spread over two buildings.

Thore worked 100% as a consultant Logica at Sony Ericsson:s IT department and belonged to their Project Manangement Office.

Equipment that was installed in Sony Ericsson:s data centers has decreased in size but energy consumption has increased. Therefore there was no need to expand the existing area of ​​250 square meters. The focus was instead exploiting surfaces better and simplify maintenance in the data center. This meant that Sony Ericsson needed to upgrade cooling and power supply in the existing data center.

Thore was principal project manager for the project. The challenge was to get the property owner and IT to understand each others needs.

The solution allows the customer to exchange large files globally both internally and with external retailers with high security and orientation of activities. The solution was based on a product supplied by GlobalSCAPE from Texas. To meet customer:s requirement needed an adjustment made ​​to the standard product.

The goal that was developed during the feasibility study :

Project IKEA Home Planner is an annual project with a focus on delivering IKEA kitchen range, bedroom range and office range in a planning tool to all IKEA stores globally.

The goal was to deliver three editions and three versions of the IKEA Home Planner to 25 countries and in 29 languages​​.
