The development of the solution has been outsourced for 4 years and the time has come to hand over the development to line organization. The team consist of 20 consultants. UX, solution architects, Java developers, front-end developers and test resources working closely with 3 product owners.

"Plattan" is a newly developed e-commerce solution that will become a complement to the stores to offer sales through more channels. An e-commerce solution supported by all types of devices and having a flexible integration set up for more than seven business systems

The objective of the pre-study was to review what possible solutions that could provide the development projects within IKEA with quality assured test environment for integration tests.

IKEA has complex environments with many integrations. The big challenge in the new development project is not to apply new development methods, the challenge is setting up integration with existing legal systems and verifying that the solution works with existing solutions.

Primus Data Centre were a datacenter inherited through acquisitions. The hall was about 1000 square meters and was built sometime in the 70s. Phasing out a hall that has been in operation for so many years and been owned by several companies is both complex and risky as some of the equipment and documentation is not possible to procure.

This project is a result of a decision taken to decommission Data Centre in Stockholm.

Objectives: Decommission the Data Centre as soon as possible to decrease unnecessary cost.

Establish it-infrastructure in new office and internal mobile communication solution.

Sony Ericsson, a joint venture equally owned by Sony Corporation and phone stock comapany LM Ericsson, was established in October 2001. Sony Ericsson:s vision is to become the leading brand in the communications entertainment. They want to inspire more than just communicate. They make it possible for anyone to create and enjoy entertainment experiences.

A new office building would be built and Thore was responsible for IT delivery. This included IT the infrastructure in house, external IT communications to existing offices in the surrounding area and the internal mobile phone solution.

Construction of the new data center

There was a need for more physical space to expand and ensure the development of new, trendy and sophisticated handsets. With high priority in demand included the importance of time to market.
The design should be flexible, eco-friendly, possible sectioning without downtime, and to perform maintenance without downtime.

Thore was senior project manager for this project and a major challenge was to get IT to work with the property owner and vice verse.
In his role as chief project had Thore overall responsibility for construction as well as the IT delivery. At the design time coordinated Thore resources from the municipality, the construction side, sub-consultants for landscaping, architects and resources from power companies, etc.

The Global file transfer solution (SHARK)

Thore worked 100 procent as a consultant Logica at Sony Ericsson IT department and belonged to their Project Management Office

SHARK is an implementation of the global file transfer solution with high security demands. The solution allows the customer to exchange large files globally both internally and with external retailers with high security and orientation of activities. To facilitate the maintenance of account and maintain high safety was one of the requirements that the system would be integrated with the customers Active Directory.
The solution was based on a product supplied by GlobalSCAPE from Texas. To meet customers requirement an adjustment was needed to the standard product.

Thore worked 100% as a consultant Logica at Sony Ericsson:s IT department and belonged to their Project Manangement Office.

Equipment that was installed in Sony Ericsson:s data centers has decreased in size but energy consumption has increased. Therefore there was no need to expand the existing area of ??250 square meters. The focus was instead exploiting surfaces better and simplify maintenance in the data center. This meant that Sony Ericsson needed to upgrade cooling and power supply in the existing data center.

Thore was principal project manager for the project. The challenge was to get the property owner and IT to understand each others needs.

Simplify and centralize the administration of Citrix environment.

Like other county councils in Sweden , Region Skåne responsibility for health care in their area. Region Skåne also , like the other three regions , with responsibility for the development of their region. Task of leading the development means that Region Skåne self coordinate efforts to develop the economy , communications , culture and cooperation with other regions in and outside Sweden .

Region Skåne is thus inhabitants of Skåne:s overall political organization.

The project Citrix quality assurance.

Overall IT Strategy in Region Skåne is that end users will have the same interface , regardless of whether users use thick or thin client. The environment and directory structure should be the same regardless of the environment to tie to.

The goal that was developed during the feasibility study :
- Create workflow configuration and installation of the Citrix environment .
- Create implementation process for new applications
- Develop and disseminate knowledge needs to support the organization.

Thore:s structured and goal-oriented approach, experience of delivering solutions with complex dependencies on other systems and experience problems coordinator (ITIL) within projects delivered advanced sales system used by more than 10,000 people contributed to a successful project.

Project IKEA Home Planner is an annual project with a focus on delivering IKEA kitchen range, bedroom range and office range in a planning tool to all IKEA stores globally.

The goal was to deliver three editions and three versions of the IKEA Home Planner to 25 countries and in 29 languages. The project starts every year on the first of September and ends in mid-October next year. Kitchen range consists of more than 6500 products. Most of the kitchen appliances are updated annually. The challenge is to implement all the products in the tool. The project consisted of five external resources to create the tool. At least one test from each country (29). One project per version of Home Planner.

IT for cooking range part of the IKEA Home Planner. The goal of the project was to deliver a Japanese version of the IKEA Home Planner to the first Japanese department store. Open Date 2006-04-24.

The challenge with this type of advanced project is that the time frame is nailed already at the start of the project. In this case the opening date of the first store.

Thore was successful with the project and closed the project in seven months. Normal delivery of this type of project within IKEA is twelve months.
Thore:s experience of the advanced case management system ClearQuest contributed to a successful project. The project consisted of team members from different time zones. Thore highlighted the importance of project members experience and the critical key factors. Project delivered within the time frame, target and budget. Project consisted of 12 project members.
